The NSC Foundational Knowledge: Minimal Sedation courses were developed to provide a strong foundational knowledge base for the practitoner providing sedation outside of the operating room. Defined by the American Society of Anesthesiologists as the 4 levels of sedation, the NSC courses provides standardized education for every level of practitoner who participates in a sedation case. The focus of the courses is on patient safety initiatives, promoting team communication/crew resource management, and understanding the concept that sedation is not a constant, it is a continuum.
